Ulrika Eller-Rüter
Ulrika Eller-Rüter works in a multidisciplinary way at the boundaries between painting, installation, performance, andmusic (including singing), as well as in participatory artforms in public spaces. In her multidisciplinary approach, she explores the traces of human existence in ist fragility, the latent and subcutaneous, what lies hidden “under the skin.” Medical imaging, asused in the natural sciences, become an artistic strategy and art-based research.
Solo and group exhibitions, performances, and interventions in a social context have taken her to Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Italy, France, Portugal, Sweden, Palestine/Israel, China, Russia, Iran, Nicaragua, and South Africa, among other places.
She has been sent on guest professorships to the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland; the Visual Arts Department at Stellenbosch University, South Africa; the Fine Arts Department at Al Quds University in Abu Dis, Palestine; the Visual Arts Department at Sichuan China University in Chengdu, China; the Academy of Fine Arts in Vilnius, Lithuania; and the Fine Arts Department at Dalian University in Dalian, China.
